The Toddler stage is a time of growth, exploration, and experimentation. Toddlers change almost daily, as we watch in awe. They relate easily and naturally to the world around them and learn through concrete experiences. In a world that is still new and fresh, they try to figure out how things work, and how everything in their environment relates to them.

Our Toddler Curriculum for one and two years olds provide an enriching environment with activities that are designed to enhance your child’s total development in a quality early childhood education environment. Kids Quarters Toddler curriculum allows your one and two year old to spend fun-filled days engaged in activities that promote learning and discovery. Whether filling containers at the water table, stacking and tumbling blocks or playing with appropriate toys and puzzles, your child will learn as he or she plays.  Your child can investigate brightly colored objects and shapes, play dress up or build fantastic structures with blocks. Or, your child may choose to cuddle up with his or her favorite teacher and read stories.

The Toddler curriculum focuses on constantly listening to and talking with children. We encourage their social, emotional and language development. We surround them with age appropriate toys and tools to encourage exploration and discovery and enhance their overall development. We provide every opportunity possible for your child to develop his or own interests, at his or her own pace. Your child will spend each day in a variety of activities, each designed for special purposes and experiences so necessary for toddler growth and development.

Teachers in the toddler room are trained to incorporate appropriate literature, educational materials, music, and other specially selected material and resources, all with the goal of enhancing rapid changes that occur in a child’s brain development in the earliest years of life.

Toddlers love to touch, feel, manipulate and taste everything. They use all their senses to explore their environment. Sensory experiences are very successful in working with the toddlers.

Our curriculum is planned around these toddler characteristics:

  • Toddlers are curious, they watch and imitate
  • Toddlers need physical activity
  • Toddlers have short attention spans
  • Toddlers need to feel secure in their environment
  • Toddlers need love and attention, hugs, comfort, and warm words
  • Toddlers need acknowledgement of their success
  • Toddlers are egocentric
  • Toddlers have things to say
