Kids Quarters has a flexible before and after school program providing an enriching environment with fun activities, specially designed to enhance the development and self-esteem of school-age children. Our program is structured to address the interests and development levels of children in kindergarten through age ten. Because the program is based on choices, children gain independence and have the freedom to learn more about what interests them.

Our before and after school program does not have a specific, planned curriculum. Instead we focus on support, in the form of child-directed, child-centered activities. The staff at Kids Quarters feels it is important to provide a balance of structured and informal learning, and both enrichment activities and academic help. A great deal of learning takes place during arts, games, and sports that enriches children’s out of school hours. It is also a time for children to receive academic support outside of the school hours. Adults or older children may be available to explain homework problems in an alternate way that helps children to understand, and feel competent in what they are doing.

Kids Quarters after school program encourages choices from a variety of fun hands-on, age appropriate activities including:

• Opportunities for socialization
• Encouraging sports and physical activities
• Provides van transportation to and from school

To further the learning that takes place during school hours, Kids Quarters program allows the children to learn through alternative means. Interacting with the real world in fun, creative and challenging ways complements formal learning.

• We let children develop their senses through the use and interactions of all the senses. We let them taste, touch, see, hear, and smell all that is available to them.
• We encourage the children to be active learners and problem solvers.

Your child may now be in school, but he/she will never out grow the need for a secure and enriched environment. The school-age program supplements your school-age child’s day with opportunities for learning and fun that keep pace with his burgeoning social and academic skills. Through special projects and activities our school-age enrichment programs provide a lively balance of activities and quiet time that give your child a chance to develop special interests or simply relax and enjoy new friendships.
